Go in and disable Java Quick Starter in your add-ons. FF will open much quicker.

But those Firefox wienies still haven't fixed that annoying jumping all about that happens on every RP page load ...

that is annoying.

I don't bite on a new update if I've got no current problems or needs. I'm using 3. 04 for RP and I've still got 3. 01 on the computer I used for fantasy baseball last year. I didn't want to upgrade that one , in case all my Greasemonkey scripts and extensions didn't work. Luckily, I was able to escape FBB. {#Lol}

 I've been watching th TV show "The Wire " lately and I give that credit for helping me kick my FBB addiction. {#Lol}

The FF update reminder pops up every so often in the system tray. I've not installed it yet, and now I'm glad I haven't. Thanks for the information Scott and kysmet. Is there any way to go back to 3.0.4?

Working fine for me. Maybe one or more of your add-ons isn't playing well with it.

FF has far fewer security issues than IE.

I love Firefox.  However, ever since I installed the latest updates recently, it won't keep me logged into any of my sites.  I have to log in every time I open my browser when before, I would open my browser and I would be signed in to everything already.  It's a pain and I can't find anything in the settings to fix this.

We started using FF years ago on our home computer when IE starting crashing/freezing all the time. FF works great for us.

Ok.  It finally seems to be working okay today.

After trying safe mode, creating new profiles, and disabling Forecastfox, it seems that I may have found the fix.

Disable Forecastfox, and reboot.

Rebooting was the step that I didn't mess with yesterday.

Everything seems to be back to normal so far.

Except that I miss my weather forecasts.

I wonder what the heck is up with the sudden changes with the Forecastfox data servers, or whatever happened around January 26 to cause freezeups.

More discussion about Forecastfox not working

I haven't moved to 3 yet, mostly because 2 is working fine for me and I'm comfortable with it.  And all my extensions that I'm used to work with 2.

I'm lovin' Firefox. I switched from IE because of a security threat some time ago. You know what I like most about it? Open Source. I wish my Linux based machine (that my brother gave me) could get online but I need someone to configure the wireless adapter for me. I'm clueless. Darcy will get around to it eventually...

Since you said you googled , I'll just mention that I've had problems with FF2 using up a lot of memory and freezing up when I have a lot of tabs open for a long period of time.

 Unfortunately that wouldn't have just started in the past few days unless you changed your browsing habits.

Help!

Starting two or three days ago, Firefox keeps freezing up arbitrarily for me for indefinite amounts of time.  This last time was for over twenty minutes.

I found info online that links freezeups to a recent ForecastFox change, which started for people three days ago.

So I disabled ForecastFox, but I am still getting freezeups.

Firefox 2, haven't upgraded to 3 yet.
