I tried, I tried, I cried. OK, I've been trying all sorts of things to find workable streams that play on the PS3. Last night I tried again and not only does the RP Flash player not work on the PS3 with the current system software update but I find that the Wii FineTune player seems to not work now too. HOW ON EARTH can PS3's et al, capable of playing flash content NOT stream audio through dedicated audio flash console/app on games consoles? I even bothered to scroll through a ton of ShoutCast stations and all of them are no shows when it comes playing on the PS3. The PS3 Media Server route is a bit of a joy killer as it means running 2 machines to play one audio stream on a games console. I'm stumped. Someone put the word out to get a pro to take this up and make it work please. :) spacca

I'm not terribly tech savvy and am also trying to listen to RP on a PS3. Are there any simple solutions?

Thanks Tioga! Got it somehow working now (only one stream at the moment, 128k mp3). Using ps3mediaserver (pms-linux-1.20.409) running on an Ubuntu 10.04 64bit system. Streaming to a PS3 which serves the surround system. The WEB.conf file augmented by: #shoutcasts audiostream.Web,Radios=Radio Paradise 128k mp3,http://scfire-dtc-aa04.stream.aol.com:80/stream/1048,http://www.radioparadise.com/graphics/fb_logo.png First part the directory and the name ("Radio Paradise 128k mp3"), the second part is the stream, the third part (2nd http) is the URL to a logo.
Too bad the playlist info is not yet sent to or picked up by the PS3. Ps3mediaserver receives it see for example the entries in the debug.log file: ... DEBUG 22:28:37.050 ICY Info: StreamTitle='Snow Patrol - The Golden Floor';StreamUrl='http://www.radioparadise.com/graphics/covers/m/-some-cover-.jpg'; ... DEBUG 22:31:47.483 ICY Info: StreamTitle='Aimee Mann - The Moth';StreamUrl='http://www.radioparadise.com/graphics/covers/m/-some-cover-.jpg';
...
So nice! Thanks again.

There is a means to stream RP through a PS3. Use PS3 Media Server.
It can be downloaded at http://code.google.com/p/ps3mediaserver/downloads/list
A forum for its use is located at http://ps3mediaserver.org/forum/
It takes some work to set up but once the library is built it shows up on the PS3 as a working media server. Adding RP also takes some effort.
Good Luck

Any progress yet?
The PS3 here is optically hooked up to the super duper stereo set (the PS3 is also the Blu-ray player). The RP flash player opens up in a new window but remains silent (the "now playing" does not seem to be updated). I tried also the other links (almost all of them) but nothing worked.
Possible tricks like somehow passing the stream "through" a PC (it is not "through" it is in and out again) to the PS3 is not a workable solution (two machines switched on which make some noise, some extra energy but above all not very user friendly). Moreover the PC runs Ubuntu...
I would love to listen to RP through the stereo set; decent loudspeakers and all that :-)

Have you had a chance to work out access to RP via a PS3? Do you think it will be possible?

I don't know how directly (I was playing with my friend's PS3 and had a hell of a time using Youtube, even though it's linked right on the PS3's homepage) or it's capabilties... but if you don't mind filtering it through a computer that has to be left on, I'm sure it will work with TVersity. I just wrote a post on how to get RP setup on that.... Link to another post.

Hello Bill, I want to introduce friends who only have means to play RP via a PlayStation 3. To make sure it would work, I tried to set it up on mine, and can see the home page and many player methods. None of the methods work for me. Please post instructions on the best method for a PS3 user to get hooked, as I am, on Radio Paradise. BTW, we hear so much great music that we have been unfamiliar with that hour CD / Amazon budget has gone way up. Thanks, -mike

I've been trying to get my PS3 to play RP through the recommended flash player, but all I get is the player window but no sound. I get the PS3 sounds as I click around, but I'm not hearing RP's lovely melodies. If I browse using my laptop it works fine.
After clicking the RP Flash Player link of the Listen page and accepting JavaScript, I see the black screen with "(Stop Audio button) Now Playing (song name)"
If I click the Stop Audio button, the button disappears entirely.
I expect I'm missing something silly, so if anyone out there has some advice for a silly person please let me know!

I'm having no luck with the flash player. It doesn't work from home (Firefox or IE8), nor at work (Firefox or IE7). The window opens, the "Now Playing" title updates as expected, but there's no audio.
My goal is to get RP streaming thru my Wii, since that's already connected to the stereo system. So far everything is a dead end - I'm open to other suggestions, but the flash player seemed the perfect solution! I found a mention of wiihear.com in another thread, but that seems to be dead as well. Doesn't work on the pc or the Wii either.
Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

ed.. yeah, thanks. That is the php, and it works for me as well. 32 is pretty low quality, when you and others are rfeporting being able to listen to 192!
