Has anyone had any success calibrating the "splitting" settings in the Streamripper Winamp Plugin to rip RP tracks with as little track overlap as possible? I have been tinkering at it for days now with no success. I normally get about .5-1 second of the next track tacked onto the end of the previous track.

Why not just record a single stream instead of trying to seperate the tracks. Less of a pain and you get the nice cross-fades on play back. If you are recording with a view to putting the mp3 file onto a data CD set a 128kbps stream to record for exactly 12 hours 30 mins and it will give you a fraction under 700mb. Your in-car hifi should have resume feature which will restart the stream where you left off each time you swith off the player.

The only ripper I have found that can seperate the tracks is Magix Webradio. You will have to go through the recorded stream adjusting the track markers to suit each track, but it works. You will need to purchase this software.

On this machine, I have winamp 5.552 and Streamripper for Winamp 1.64.0 and it works - differently than on the other two PCs, but it works.  The one thing I dislike about it is that it doesn't cut the tracks apart the same way as previous versions - there is a little overlap sometimes, which causes a kind of hiccup on playback.

Exactly what I have (on Vista).  Did you have to write in your proxy server #?  It's blank in my Connection tab in SR.

I am using three different versions on three different PCs.  Never had this problem.  I would suggest trying a different version of streamripper, winamp, or both.

FWIW, The Streamripper site sez:

Q: Why do I get 'SR_ERROR_CANT_CREATE_FILE' when trying to rip a stream?
A: There are a few reasons why one might get this error:
  1. You're using a version older than 1.60.6. If so, please upgrade.
  2. You're using 1.63-beta-2. Please use a different version.
  3. You're ripping a stream with non-English song titles. If this is the case, you can try making sure that your default locale (regional settings in windows) matches the language of the stream you are ripping.
I'm guessing none of these are true. Sorry.
