I've needed to mulch this bed for a couple years. Finally found a friend willing to loan his trailer to haul the mulch, and another friend's son to help spread it! I still need another load!

That one's in LonGisland City, Queens. When I saw the old picture on someone's Flickr page I was trying to figure out why the Empire State Building was not visible - it's blocked by the UN building, but the view looked familiar. Around 1981 or so a friend hooked me up to do a photo shoot with one other guy for some catalog of Spalding menswear sold in Japan. They wanted to shoot around there because they needed the Manhattan skyline in the background. I never got to see the photos but at least we got paid.
I had to "walk" around in the Google street view to find the present-day location - there's a restaurant there now apparently - just to the left. There was just that old wharf there in the early '80s, like in that old photo.
