Since I'd not read the books before the first film came out, I wait and read the books after the movies. That way the movies are fresh. The books add to the enjoyment, with greater detail later, rather than missing things from the book when I see the movie.

It just made me laugh. But then your post reminded me that my husband is not the only one who doesn't know how the whole thing ends... he watches the movies, but he's not a book reader.

Isn't the title of this thread a bit anti-climactic? Hasn't the book been out for a year or two? Or are we strictly talking movies, now?

They moved it because the writer's strike left them without a big tentpole movie for the Summer. They then justified it, saying we (the fans) won't have to wait as long between HBP and the first part of 'Deathly Hallows.
