| Well that part's a no brainer. But I'm still confused as to the URL. Not that I need to follow it up anymore. Thanks. One of their mottoes is "If you can, you should." Maybe they should take a closer look at that, eh?

There are several in the Denver area so we're fine.

they are in full damage control now. the self-promoting apology/fundraiser offer has been changed to a full $5000 donation to the park. They took down their partnership page probably to prevent blowback to their sponsors. Park Rangers have filed criminal complaints against them.

and by we i mean you guys They'll probably get fines and some kind of pick-up-trash penance. They've done more damage to their company than that already. While I enjoy the flush of outrage (even phony internet outrage) as much as the next guy, the off-with-their-heads crowd is just being silly. The rules they broke are there to keep people from getting hurt. They didn't, but it would have served them right. Somebody could have gotten hurt rescuing them, which would serve no purpose whatsoever, and in that case I'd be outraged too. But they did no damage and if it hadn't been for the pictures and video we'd never know they were there. The Facebook comments ("they desecrated our sacred park!") are just the usual online dogpile. We're as much offended by their attitude as the act, their the-rules-don't-apply-to-me-'cuz-I'm-young-cleancut-and-white vibe they give off just rubs us wrong. If they had been Shoshones out to do some kind of ceremony the reaction would probably be quite different. Fratboys get no pity.

JrzyTmata wrote:thier FB page now has an apology. they're still clueless dipshits. cripes, even their apology is spinning a self-promotion.
I guess I'll wander over to reddit to see if someone has their video. The one of them in the Badlands lowered my IQ so much I'm not sure I can find my way. But I will soldier on I'm a little bit miffed by the first report, where the person took photos, went to Jackson, gave the photos to a local internet blog/paper (not law enforcement) and emailed them to the NPS. Did they also take photos of the bus? Because the visit was 3 days ago, according to the "apology," but the photos hit the internet the same day as the video. So I'm miffed at the dozens of people who took pictures but apparently said/did nothing to get these jackholes into handcuffs, until 3 days later.
