So if you click on an individual song in iTunes, a little teeny Ping pulldown menu appears. You can Like stuff there... I bought that album from the iTunes store.

Upgrade today. Functions differently. Shows up in a window on the right, in place of the stoopid "genius" window. Not sure if it's significantly better, but it makes more sense to have it floating there instead of you having to completely change windows to look at it.
now it needs to integrate with last.fm

It sucks right now. I used Lala before Apple bought it and shut it down, and it had all of the Ping features, but in addition, it allowed me to share playlists with anyone (they could listen but not download), search for and listen to any song in the library for free (one time for free, $0.10 unlimited listens) and upload my iTunes library so that I could listen to it anywhere I had an internet connection. I could also purchase MP3s for $0.89-$0.99. It was really pretty useful. Ping is not.

So we're signed up ( Hey dmax!) and it looks like it'll be fun. But it shows people a small assortment of my "favorites" presumably—you would think— based on number of plays or how the song's rated... maybe it is but is it tallying all of our ripped CDs in the library? nooooo it's based only on stuff we bought from the iTunes store.

I thought I had a successful day, my first day up and at em doing errands, but now I feel like I've been swindled. And baby is kicking in te wrong spot. :(
